The Pastor’s Corner 

This weekend we welcome Bishop Jarrell to our 4 pm Mass concluding the Festival de la Grande Eglise.  As a native son of St. Landry Church, the Bishop himself is "coming home" to enjoy good food and fun as well as being the main celebrant and homilist at the Mass.  We hope that the festival was a good experience for all who attended and for the many volunteers who made the day possible.  We will be listing a number of people to whom we owe a debt of gratitude in the bulletin next weekend, but for now we would like to thank the following sponsors whose support made the festival possible:

Just a reminder that October and November are months devoted to our appreciation of those who have gone before us into the next life. After the Festival de la Grande Eglise and Cemetery Tours this weekend, the Cemetery Tours will continue next weekend as usual.  Our celebrations will culminate with All Saints Day on November 1st and All Souls Day on November 2nd. We will have our annual blessing of the cemetery on October 31st after the 4 pm Mass, and our annual Memorial Mass for those recently deceased on Monday, November 2nd at 6 pm (All Souls Day), at which we will remember some 75 or so of our brothers and sisters who departed from us last year.  Please mark your calendar and plan to join us!!
